What has over 6 million twinkling lights, your favorite Christmas songs, all the shopping you need to complete your “nice” list, and holiday cheer around every corner? Branson, Missouri, during Ozark Mountain Christmas of course!
Our Christmas tour of Branson begins at Silver Dollar City. Silver Dollar City is home to An Old Time Christmas festival, often voted one of the nation’s top holiday events. Be prepared for the ultimate Christmas experience. From 6.5 million Christmas lights strung throughout the 60 acre park, to the nightly light parade featuring Rudolph™ The Red-Nosed Reindeer, you cannot help but be in the holiday spirit. Start your day at Silver Dollar City well before dark so you can take in the live shows, catch a few rollercoaster loops, shop, and enjoy the flavors of the season. To make your visit even more convenient, check out one of the places to stay on Indian Point. Our Indian Point lodging options are some of the closest spots to Silver Dollar City.
In addition to Silver Dollar City, the city of Branson is brimming with Christmas spirit in November and December. The live stage shows of Branson are a must-do this time of year. After all, Branson is known as the live entertainment capital of American. The dozens of theaters offer everything from Broadway-style productions to quaint shows where you’ll hear the traditional songs of the season performed by incredibly talented folks.
If it’s shopping, you’re in the mood for, Branson has you covered. Tanger Mall is a popular spot with 70 stores located at the outdoor outlet center. You can truly find something for everyone on your shopping list. Branson Landing is another great destination for shopping in Branson. This area is located in historic Downtown Branson along Lake Taneycomo. In addition to shopping, there’s entertainment and several restaurants at Branson Landing.
You don’t want to leave your Christmas visit to Branson without taking in at least one of the multiple Christmas light drive-throughs. Along Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, you’ll find two drive-throughs that are hard to choose between, so do them both! Just outside of Branson at the Shepherd of the Hills Homestead is the longest running Christmas light drive-through the Trail of Lights. In recent years, the Shepherd of the Hills Homestead has expanded from just a light drive-through to offer an entire holiday festival that is fun for all ages.
